Over two days in San Francisco, the AI Horizons Forum will bring together people and organizations working to ensure transformative AI leads to good futures.
Building a shared strategic picture
Content will focus on the key updates on where the field stands, what's most pressing or neglected, and where new effort could go furthest.
Facilitating connections that accelerate impact
Meetings and structured networking will help attendees form and strengthen relationships that accelerate work through collaborations, funding opportunities, and new hires.
Attendees
We expect to welcome over 750 people. The event is aimed at two categories of attendees:
1. People working full-time on ensuring good AI futures
Organization leaders, technical researchers, policy specialists, academics, and others working across a broad set of subfields, from alignment to AI governance and digital sentience.
2. People well-positioned to move into high-priority roles
Talented, informed people ready to move into high-priority roles or start new projects—the kind of people you'd be excited to see apply for an opening on your team.

What to expect
Talks set the frame
The Forum opens Saturday morning with the updates we think matter most, giving everyone a shared frame for the rest of the weekend.
1:1 conversations
The Forum is centered around 1:1s and small-group conversations, alongside structured networking opportunities like speed networking.
Focus on navigating risks, and shaping good futures
Sessions will cover topics including risks from transformative AI, as well as exploratory topics such as digital sentience, AI character, and post-AGI economics.

The AI Horizons Forum is organized by the AI Events Team at Effective Ventures, the team behind the Summit on Existential Security. We’ll be launching as a new, independent organization in 2027.

The AI Horizons Forum is taking place December 12–13, 2026, at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, 780 Mission Street.

Who should apply?
This event is for people working full-time on ensuring good AI futures, across technical research, governance, field-building, and related subfields, as well as a small number of talented people well-positioned to move into high-priority roles in this space.
We recommend applying if you're working in or adjacent to AI safety and governance, or if you have relevant skills or experience and are ready to transition into the field.
If you’re uncertain about whether to apply, we encourage you to do so.

The standard ticket price is $500, though discounts are available at checkout for those who need them. Your ticket includes access to all sessions and meals during the event.

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodation, though we have a limited number of onsite hotel rooms available at no cost to attendees. You can indicate your interest when you register.

Travel support is available to cover reasonable travel expenses in cases where it will make a substantial difference to your ability to attend. To request travel reimbursement, contact us at team@aihorizonsforum.org.

Refunds are available if requested at least two weeks before the event; later requests will be at our team's discretion.
